Yeah, after hearing about how much everyone has gotten in trouble with this, I'm really glad I went a couple years ago before things really got crazy. They are just trying to protect you from being arrested. You could have been had you been caught, and it's wise on the part of WNJ to say not to go there because the last thing they need is a lawsuit saying they found out about the place in WNJ.

not to be a downer and all,
but me and 6 of my other friends wen the the gates of hell very recently.
and none of us were called the cops on nor arrested.
there were no cops guarding or other people even there.
it seems like it has just been vacant for awhile.

Ah...you know the Rod Johnson maps...while those are some very interesting and detailed maps, those are not the ones I'm referring to. Johnson's maps are a great source, especially for the sections in the Wyanokies and Farney Highlands, as well as Ramapos, but they are available to public and can be bought on line.

The "Magic Maps" as they are referred to in house among parks in the Kittatinnies were put together by a park employee for emergency rescue purposes and...

I'm really glad the magazine is keeping away from posting exact directions to the locations...it's disheartening seeing how a place gets destroyed after it's appearance in the magazine, and that's why I have'nt sent any locations in as of late. I remember almost ten years ago when I sent in some info about Paulins Kill Viaduct and a couple other places, next thing you know the amount of graffitti there doubled.

Alot of places that are on WNJ are areas on private or state owned property, such as the paulingskill viaducts that myself and pretty much every local teenager has explored as a rite of passage for this area. Its illegal to go onto the trestles but almost every older teenager in the closest 4-5 towns can tell you exactly how to get there and personal stories from their own visits. Just an idea? Does anyone know who owns this property? Wouldn't it be interesting if they allowed a mature, responsible, bonded group to go in and investigate. It might put some of the claims of previous experiences into check. Also would make a cool cover story for the local papers to publish the findings (more so for a Halloween publication). They just might find that "all the hype" on this place would be dulled by no evidence of anything weird happening.
